Inman Square, Cambridge, MA

This is a mural depicting the firemen of Company No. 5 on the side of the building that houses the fire department. Painted by Ellary Eddy in 1980. The mural features George Washington, in honor of his time spent in Boston and his being a volunteer firefighter in Virginia, and Benjamin Franklin because he founded the first volunteer fire department in the US, and he is depicted wearing sneakers. Coughlin Insurance in front is in my view among the ugliest buildings in the area, but you do get used to it after a while. I guess now, if it would disappear I would feel kind of sad. The mural however, is definitely nice and I am sure a lot of people like it.
